New Love & Thunder Trailer Shows The Return Of Endgame’s Fat Thor

New Love & Thunder

A new trailer for Thor: Love and Thunder teases the return of Fat Thor from Avengers: Endgame. For the God of Thunder’s fourth standalone feature, Chris Hemsworth and filmmaker Taika Waititi reunite for the second time in the MCU. Thor: Love and Thunder is set after the events of the Infinity Saga and will see Jane Foster (Natalie Portman) as Mighty Thor.

The Guardians of the Galaxy’s involvement, Mighty Thor’s arrival, and King Valkyrie’s reign in New Asgard are all pivotal moments in Thor: Love and Thunder. Christian Bale, meanwhile, joins the MCU as Gorr the God Butcher, the story’s main antagonist. Thor, who is going through a midlife crisis and attempting to find out what’s next for him after the Infinity Saga, is at the centre of Love and Thunder’s story. His new look in Thor: Love and Thunder may surprise some, as he no longer carries the extra weight he gained after Thanos’ snap.

As the film’s release date approaches, Marvel Entertainment has released a brand new trailer for Thor: Love and Thunder as part of the marketing campaign. The trailer includes a number of new shots as well as new language from Bale’s Gorr. The most important takeaway from the spot, though, is Fat Thor’s latest appearance following Avengers: Endgame.

Waititi made it clear from the start that he didn’t want Fat Thor to return in Thor: Love and Thunder. Furthermore, Hemsworth has stated that he is the biggest and strongest he has ever been playing the God of Thunder, implying that Thor’s Endgame body is at an end. Thankfully, the film does not ignore Fat Thor’s existence. Thor’s narrative in Avengers: Endgame was one of the most contentious aspects of the 2019 blockbuster, as it primarily employed the character for humorous purposes. As Thor’s attempt to lose weight while also dealing with his PTSD is depicted in Love and Thunder, the upcoming MCU film should hopefully prevent any further cheapening of his challenges.

While the new trailer does not provide any context for Fat Thor’s presence in Thor: Love and Thunder, it’s likely that it’s a flashback sequence depicting the God of Thunder’s escapades with the Guardians of the Galaxy. The Asgardian Prince delegated reigning duties to Valkyrie while he jetted out with his cosmic pals, as shown at the end of Avengers: Endgame. They may have split up after that, as Thor began his healing trip. When Thor: Love and Thunder hits theatres, audiences will be able to see for themselves.
