The commemorative banknote design for the 75th anniversary of Pakistan has been decided upon by the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP). On August 14, 1947, Pakistan was established, and on August 14, 2022, it will commemorate 75 years since that date.
The federal cabinet approved the banknotes’ design, and the SBP was instructed to have the commemorative banknotes printed on paper locally. In August 2022, the public will probably be able to use the notes.
Previously, on August 13, 1997, in honour of Pakistan’s 50th anniversary, special Rs. 5 commemorative notes were released.
Through the issuance of commemorative currency, the SBP works diligently to mark important occasions in Pakistan’s history. Additionally, it produced commemorative coins to pay homage to notable individuals and to celebrate significant historical occasions.
